The sinking
I’m at home up north, like I am so often in my dreams.
A guy on the radio has just told us that we’re about to be hit by several disasters of nature. A giant tsunami or flood is coming. A tornado is approaching. The forests around us are on fire, and the mountains are crumbling.
All I want to do is to find my old ex-girlfriend and tell her I’m sorry and that everything is allright now. I don’t want her to think I’m an asshole. I leap across the rapidly decaying streets. I duck and sway from large pieces of buildings falling to the ground. The wind is howling around me and I feel totally alone.
I know that a ship is at the harbor, awaiting my return from the mission I’m on. As I start to think about this, the dream fast-forwards until the end, where I find myself standing in the middle of the sea. I’m about to be swallowed by the wet masses moving like a herd of cattle around me, and I look up.
The ship that was waiting for me is drifting by, and on the deck I spot my old ex, waving and smiling at me in a forgiving manner. She blows me a kiss.
I wake up.
